This was a piece made from an old scanned sketch back when I was drawing up ideas for a Dig. Illustration assignment. Thought I'd give it some color, as well as mess around lightly with graphic design. But man, typography does NOT run through my veins, so if anyone sees this, please tell me: what can I fix to make this seem less amateur?

I wouldn't say this looks amateur Shanti. In fact, I really enjoy how you mix static and dynamic composition with the typography.
It would be really interesting to see how your work would look if you continue to work like this more often.
